I had a lady come to me, and ask if I could make her something unique for her husband who is a Sheriff, for Valentines day. Instead of doing a typical rustic American flag that I normally do for people. I came up with this idea, to incorporate a flag into a Sheriff badge. The finished piece came out great, and she was extremely happy on how it turned out.

  • Could you please Email me the full detail how you did the flag and how you made the bust rustic wood finish up to the final product. Thx in advance. BTW , Awesome piece of work

    • Thanks! I cut all the stripes etc. out to fit the plywood pattern. I then used a propane torch, and torched the stripes, and where the stars go. I then used a dremel tool to carve the stars out. Then I glued and nailed each piece into place. And when it was put together, I torched the entire piece again in certain areas. It was all done by using a propane torch. And the name ribbons were hand burned with a woodburner.

  • That might be the coolest one yet. You have serious design skills. I have to say it's amazing how many projects you get done. I feel like a loafer.

    • Thanks!...Lately it's been nothing but flags..lol.. Hopefully I'll get a chance and do some more furniture sometime soon. I have to say though, this has to be one of my favorites. :)

  • Great job again brother, how feasible is it for you to make a 2nd infantry division patch and mail it to me? I will pay of course

    • Thanks!... It would be do'able. The Sheriff badge was 3'x3'. Which seemed to be a nice size for a wall hanging. I'd have to look into seeing how much something that size would be to ship.

    • I PM'd you on FB.

  • That is awesome fEzZ. Very professional looking. You had that complete in what, 30, maybe 45 minutes??? Quick question - did you make the ribbons for the name/agency or did you buy them pre-cut?

    • Thanks! I drew the ribbons up in photoshop (along with the type) so they would be clean, printed them out for a pattern, traced them onto the wood and cut them out.

  • Would like to know if you make and sell these?

    • Yes...actually have had so many requests after this one, that I'll be busy till first week of June.

  • Can you tell me where I can find a badge this size to trace? I am dying to try and make one for my husband. Thank you

    • Honestly, I had a hard time trying to find one myself...lol.. So I just drew one. Basically all you have to do is draw a triangle, and then draw another one upside down. It may take awhile to get the triangle shape right, but once you do, it's easy to make. If that doesn't work, you can always Google an image, and have Staples or a copy place, blow it up to the size you want. :)

  • You do some nice work dude!! Might have to borrow this idea. The chief of police lives across the road from us. Continue the great work!

  • Could you email me the demenstions of each point on your star? I think this was one of my favorite projects I’ve seen so far.

    • I have no idea. I made it so long ago...lol.. Basically I messed around drawing a triangle that I could then flip upside down to make the star. It took me awhile to get it to look right. It may be easier to find one online and then have a copies place like Staples blow one up to size.
