I had someone come to me and ask if I could make a wooden flag, with a touch color. I made a 3'x5' flag, using furring strips and a piece of pine for the rectangle piece. I torched all of the wood, to make all the grain stand out. Then painted each piece with water downed paint, leaving the grain to show through. I then hand carved all of the stars out. He was very pleased, and used it as a table top for inside of his man cave.

  • This is so awesome! Your torch/paint technique really makes this piece. You carved all those stars by hand? That's impressive work! (By the way, we'd be remiss if we didn't say it- that man cave is off the hook!)

    • Yeah, I have to admit, that man cave is pretty darn impressive. Quite a collection, you almost don't notice the flag...lol

  • Nice flag! I like the helmet wall as well.
