My floating shelves seem to be a hit, we did another set out of STL local old joists and used hidden brackets to mount them. They turned out great and the saw marks give an extra awesome touch.

  • These look great! What stain color is this? We love the saw marks!

    • Thanks! There is no stain, it is the natural weathering of a hundred or so years. When I work with theses boards, I just plane and sand them flat, then add a coat of poly-acrylic.

  • What 'hidden' hardware did you use, and where did you get it? Thanks :-)

  • Thanks again!. I have some fantastic cedar boards left from a media shelf project. I will do the faux barn aging and texturing and copy your floating shelves. Thanks for the inspiration!
