We built a treehouse this weekend over at my brother's house for my nephew (7) and my niece (4). Started off on Monday (while I was at work, my dad went over and started the concrete foundation posts and the deck frame. Over the weekend, the decking was finished, bannisters and ballisters were put in and then the stair case. Other ideas still being kicked around are a slide, fireman's pole, and a small structure in the back corner

  • What a cool space! This looks like the kind of place kids and adults would enjoy. Lots of space for playing and visiting! Thanks for sharing, and we hope you'll share more pictures as you add on!

  • Nice work. This is such a cool design, especially how you incorporated the tree. I like the accent lighting in the deck posts, are these solar?

  • Those are actually fence post mending plates, but solar lighting is an awesome idea!!! Wish I thought of that. By using the mending plates, it gave us the flexibility to go ahead and cut all of our foundation posts the same length and then cut additional length for the tops in order to achieve a level banister all the way around the tree house regardless of the elevation change in the back yard. Used a laser level to maintain fence post/rail height all the way around. Ryobi, please make a self-adjusting laser level!!!!
