We moved into our house and we didn't really have a place to hang coats. There was a very small closet by the garage and no closet by the front door. Now for some this would not have been a problem but I have six children with six coats, six snow pairs of snow pants, and an unreasonable amount of shoes. I began designing this space initially with sliding doors. I was informed however by my wife that no doors would be needed (hint she was right). The project was quite involved because I ripped out a wall in order to expand a very small closet. I took some space from the closet in the bedroom but not too much. We were able to create a nice closed space, with a bench, shelving, hooks and hangers.
