I have recently been working on adding more storage and organization to my two-car garage. The project has taken me roughly one year to complete, but I am very happy with the results.

My car mats are HDX Universal Flooring and my pegboard is Everbilt 16" X 16" modular plastic sections which were purchased at my local Home Depot. Most of my storage is contained in Sterilite Storage Systems, but I made custom-built storage toolboxes to hold bulkier items such as our Christmas wreaths, My wife's collectible dollhouse, and our luggage. In addition to my pegboard, I used Kobalt Track Systems with Kobalt shelves for larger items and my storage cabinetry is Black + Decker. One thing I have discovered is that the Ryobi Power Tool Totes make excellent storage for miscellaneous items.

My plastic bins were purchased from Harbor Freight and I painted them to match my Ryobi Tools. I have major OCD and I did deck out my chest freezer to resemble a Snap On Tool Chest. (I know, I have a problem) :) To complete my garage, I replaced my old Chamberlain garage door openers with Ryobi GD200 Openers and the optional Parking Assist, Cord Reel, Fan and Air Inflation modules. I cannot recommend these openers enough and love them.

  • We are at a loss for words over this one! It's a DREAM GARAGE - perfectly organizes, with lots of storage, and looks like a showroom! We're a bit jealous. :) Thanks for inspiring us to up our garage game!

  • Did you make the Ryobi sign or buy it?

    • I purchased the sign from Ebay. Etsy also has it. I then built a shadow box around it with Stand-Offs for some dimension.

  • This is REALLY nice!  I'm a newbie trying to make my garage into a workshop.  So many people seem to have finished, clean workshops.  How do you keep it so dust free?  I didn't see a dust collection system. Great job!

    • Hello and thanks for your comments. I routinely use a blower and broom to sweep my garage but the biggest way I keep it clean is that I do not usually cut wood, etc.. in it. My garage is used for storing two cars, three kayaks, my 18V cordless tools and my exercise equipment. I use my basement shop for my work. Its organized but does not stay as clean :)

  • What color did you paint the plastic bins?
By geriengel, on May 27, 2020
    • I used Rust-Oleum American Accents (Gloss Key Lime)
