my sister needed a bed for her three year old he will not sleep in his crib. I was asked what I could do with a small space. my only request was to do it my way. I believe in over kill I like to do things once. so I used 4x4 for post and 2x6 with ply wood for a base with added 2x4 for support. it was made for a kid, but you can drive a truck over it. I have lag bolts, and deck screws for added support. most of the project was spent sanding. it was a lot of wood. plus it was for a kid so you have to make sure you do a good job sanding.
