I recently made a flag shelf for a relative, where he could display all of his medals, as well as hiding a small firearm. I used furring strips to frame it out, and used some pine panel strips to make the backing. I then chaulked painted and scuffed it for a nice rustic look. I carved the stars out using a dremel, and then used a push magnet for the door. I like the way it came out, and it now looks 10x better with all of his medals on display. :)
