My daughter's room is not very big and she wanted a loft bed. I agreed, almost a year ago... we got started and would work on it every now and then and then last weekend I got tired of it taking up space in the shop so we decided to power through getting it finished. After getting it all set up I realized the hard way I needed to take the fan down and we took off the closet door so it wouldn't be in the way of the ladder. She is very happy have the additional floorspace and the way it turned out.

  • Wow! This looks awesome! I have been hunting high and low for a queen loft- do you have a shopping list or plans for this?

    • I just kind of designed/built it as I went... its 4x4 for the posts, 2x6 for the mattress rails, and 2x4 for the rest of the frame. I used 1x4s for the mattress supports and a 2x2 attached to the 2x6 rail for the 1x4s to rest on.
