This is the first chair to go with a dining room table I made for my mom. I used Ana White's plans at http://www.ana-white.com/2010/11/plans/parson-chair-plans I followed the plans pretty closely. The angled cuts and everything worked well so that pieces fit together. The hardest part of this chair for me was the upholstery. My mom picked the fabric, and while it wasn't a bank breaker, it wasn't cheap. So, I felt like I couldn't afford to make mistakes on the slipcovers. This may seem like overkill, but I cut up an old sheet and made slipcovers out of the sheet first to make sure it would fit. It was a good thing I did, because there were parts that didn't work right. I was able to work those parts out with the sheets, and then made the covers out of the upholstery fabric, and it worked! The next one should go faster now that I've figured out the upholstery. By the time I do the 4th one, I should really have it down.
