As I mentioned in my prior project, my new employer distributes various wood products including shiplap to more than 400+ big box stores. We recently had our office space painted and new carpet installed. Considering the proximity to our large warehouse and the instant access to materials, I was itching to do something. Once a few people heard me talking about putting shiplap up in my office, they all wanted it! I started with the larger office space and was able to install about 280sq feet the first day. The following day I reinstalled the baseboards and the crown molding. Again, super easy with the sliding miter saw, cordless jigsaw and 18ga nailer. On this install I also glued the boards to the wall considering the metal studs, I wasn’t sure if nails alone would hold up. Once I find some more free time at work, I will put shiplap up in my office and 3-4 other offices. Although deciding on what color or style seems to be the hard part, as long as they stick with the pre-painted / pre-stained I’m happy to install it.
