I was running out of space on the old shelves so I took them down and decided to do larger shelves. It took several months because I only got a half hour here and there between other projects. Unfortunately I don't have any progress pics but these started as rough cut oak, I planned them and cut them square then debarked. After that I filled the defects with epoxy and went to town sanding before finishing them with poly acrylic. They are mounted with hidden brackets via holes drilled in the back of the shelves. We are very happy with the result and now I have room see all the labels :)

  • Very nice! We like that rugged look. Did you make that dog bowl stand too?

    • Thanks, we did the dog bowl a while ago but it never made it on here. Actually part two of this project is to do another shelf with holes in it to put near the floor to replace that dog bowl stand.

    • Awesome! The last shelf will really complete that space.

  • Very cool. I need to learn how build and set up floating shelves.
