In an attempt to organize our backpack, coats, etc.. in our mudroom, I took advantage of stock cabinets at the local home improvement store and built around them. After setting the cabinets, I built the bottom seat, risers, back beadboard, hooks and trimmed it out. As you can tell from the pics, it gets a lot of use! The cubby storage baskets at the top contains our keys, wallets, gps units and other personal items.
