We wanted to try something small for our first live edge project so we decided to replace the shelves in our kitchen. We used 1.25 thick red oak. After we planned it the thickeness was just over an inch. We filled in the cracks with epoxy and finished it with polyacrylic after sanding to 600 grit. All in all we love the result and plan to replace our bar shelves with thicker live edge boards.

    • Thanks! We haven't decided the wood type for the bar yet, our source has a large collection so we just have to see what we find, which is pretty fun sorting through it all.
