We needed a kitchen island and decided to add a bar top and make the stools. We recycled the pipes from an old rolling cart and recycled wood joists that we reclaimed from the 120 year old brick house that caught fire next door. We had to trim all the boards with the table saw then planed them to make them even and remove the charring, revieling gorgeous wood underneath. Additionally, we spray painted the pipes and applied a clear coat. We are very satisfied with result and can't wait to finish the concrete countertop for the island to replace the temporary malamite top that is pictured.
