I used 1x8 boards or 1x10 boards along with 1x3. I cut the board between 10 or 11 inches. I used pocket hole screws and attached the 1x3 about an inch from the base so that the frame could stand up. I used my Ryobi drill to attach the screws. I then screwed a small clip and my wife attached burlap strips through 1/2 holes that I drilled. I stained the frames with different stains and gave them as favors at my wife's birthday party
