Built for my first Grandson Lucas, this whimsical cradle features materials and a unique design for safety and durability. My goal was to build a family treasure for generations to come. Using quality wood products and pocket hole joinery this cozy cradle will surely stand the test of time. Steps:
Use a jigsaw to cut (2) half moon shapes from 3/4" plywood.
Cut (6) 16" in length from each of the (8) 1"x3"x96" boards, resulting in a total of 48 cross member boards. Place (2) 3/4" pocket holes on both sides.
Attach boards to inside the half moon shapes, cross member boards are held in place using Kreg 90 degree pocket hole clamp. Start 3/4" from the point of one end of the half moon figure and secure. On the bottom half of the cradle attach (11) cross member boards and on the top half of the cradle attach (24) boards.
Build and attach base to half moon.
