I replaced the glass on our patio table with Seven 1x6 boards, treated with a torch using the Sugi fire burning technique I saw in a Bob Vila article. I thought of refurbishing the table when we started looking for new patio furniture but realized it was quite expensive.

The boards are cut to fit inside the frame of the table but spaced with 1/4” tile spacers so it wouldn’t hold water. Then supported with the table legs and framed underneath with lattice molding. The table is sealed with Linseed oil. I spray painted the chairs, edges and legs of table with black Rustoleum paint.
