Harvest Farmhouse Table and Bench -
I have been dying to do a big farmhouse table. A friend of mine was looking for a table so I offered to build one for her. I looked at many many plans. The one I choose was from Ana White's website where it was linked to Shanty2Chic's table design. So a huge thank you to both for providing free plans for other to use!

I made some slight modifications to this table. The plan was designed as a bigger table then what I needed and that was a bit too big from my friend, so I cut the table down to 7'. I also mitered my corners to give it a bit more elegant look.

Overall this was one of my biggest accomplishments and I was extremely pleased with the outcome! So much that I may just have to build me one now :-).

Hope you enjoy!

  • Amazing work! You really nailed this one. Your finish looks beautiful- what color stain/sheen did you go with?

    • Thank you! Stain was Gel type "Brizilian Rosewood" color and finished with a satin polyurethane. 3 coats was applied. Since my friend wasn't in a hurry we waited 24 hours between each applique. 220 grit light sanding was performed between each coat.

    • Thank you very much. It took me about 3-4 solid days to do. I allowed a lot of dry time between the coats of poly for the finish!
