I built these elevated SFG beds to avoid having to crawl around on the ground to plant a vegetable garden. Also by elevating them, I don't have to deal with roots from the nearby trees, grass and weeds. I wanted something that was functional but also looked good. The original idea was to build three 4'x4' beds, but after making the first one, I decided that 2'x8' beds would be easier to tend. I added the tall ends to build in trellises for vining plants like Cucumbers, Beans, etc.
