I made this for my mother-in-law as a surprise. The bottom part is a simple organizer that sorts and stores long utensils. The top drawer is mounted on a roller slide and provides organization for small items. What was lost in a deep drawer is now easy to find.

  • What a neat addition to a normal kitchen drawer! Did you use the existing drawer or have to create a new one altogether?

  • Thanks, it was a fun project.  I cut a 3" opening in the back of the existing drawer and then made a new top drawer out of plywood.  I picked up a 12 pack of roller slides and am planning on using them for more projects like this.
