DIY FIREPLACE

We wanted a Fireplace so bad. Unfortunately, our home did not come with one. I thought, hey why not build one ourselves but with an electric insert and build around it. Well we did and I loved it. We used 2x4 studs and plywood to build the frame and anchor the wood to the wall to make sure it was sturdy and secure. Next we added travertine to the floor area and placed Airstone around the whole thing. We also made sure we could easily remove the electric fireplace insert in case we ever had to replace it. Overall a great build done by my husband and I and I couldn't be happier with it. Everyone thinks it came with the house.
