The idea for the project came from my wife. My wife needed organization for her crafting supplies so they were easily accessible. We figured many people use peg board in the garage to hang tools why not use it to hang crafting supplies and tools. We constructed one to go with her L desk where she is normally sitting and then later realized she needed more space to store her growing stamp collection.

  • I want to know about the shelves for the stamps. Size of the board, how you attached them to the wall. Everything. Fabulous job. I may want to steal the idea of stamp storage.

    • Hi, I'm happy to know you liked the design. I will list links as well at the bottom to what I used for the shelves. For the shelving I used 1 in. x 2 in. primed boards and for the face I used 1/4 in. x 1-3/4 in. Mouldings. For the shelving I first found the studs in the wallI so I could screw the boards into them. I pre-drilled the holes in the boards to avoid splitting them. And screwed them down with 2 1/2in screws. To cover up the holes on the boards and to avoid the stamps from falling off I used the trim mounding. I attached that with finishing nails using 1 1/4in nails then I covered up the holes with nail filler. Hope this helps.   • Hi Alex, thank you for so generously offering up all that info. Just to make sure I understand- your screws were long enough to go from the front through to the back and into the wall? Did you use a nail gun for attaching the finishing nails? Can you just come to my house and put them in for me? lol- I actually think I can do this. Your instructions were perfect. Primed boards are a great idea.

    • Yes the screws were long enough to go through the board and into the studs in the walls. I actually realized I used 3in screws for that and 3/4in finishing nails for the trim. For the trim I used a nail gun to attach the finishing nails. Lol, unfortunately I am booked with helping friends and family for the next couple of weekends.
