American flag table

I was inspired by Fezz, and his burnt marine flag, and decided to make a coffee table with a burn pattern. I purchased a steel wavy American flag off Etsy and used it as a stencil for the torch.

I didn't want my entire coffee table burnt so I burned the center of the table top and lightly stained and poly coated everything else. I had to burn the flag and the top in 2 separate sessions, about 5 total mins, since the pallets catch on fire super quick. I didn't really have anything in mind when I started but I am super excited about the result after just winging it.

I used Craigslist to find free pallets in my area for the wood to make my table. I purchased lift mechanisms off eBay and a torch to burn the flag at Home Depot. All in all I spent about ~$95-105 to make the table. But I'll have the flag for future uses or as a hanging decoration.

The longest part of the build was taking about the pallets.

Let me know what you think!
