A family friend was looking to upgrade their closet space without breaking the bank, but they wanted the look of real wood instead of the laminated organizers you see in stores. To achieve the look they wanted, the entire project was made of select pine and various thicknesses of plywood and stained a dark walnut.
The closet organizer was made in 5 sections and assembled inside the closet. It consists of 2 - 8 foot towers with angled shoe racks at the bottom. These two sections were installed in the blind sides of the closet. There are three 7 foot tall sections for hanging clothes installed in the middle. We left 12 inches on either side of the center section to allow access to the side cabinets. By far my biggest woodworking project to date.
