  • Hi, just wanted to commend you on the wonderful job you did!  Question though, your 1x6's looked to be treated.  If they are, aren't you supposed to wait 5 or 6 months before painting or re-staining?  How did they do when you treated with Thompson's water seal?  Did it soak in any, or did it just kinda sit there?  Again, great job with that and the chairs (I assume you built those too).  Go, Girl power!

    • Hi Paul! Thank you! Yes they were treated and they soaked up the Thompson Water seal stain just fine a few days after assembling! Here in Florida, especially in the spring we get a lot of rain. So I needed to make sure they were waterproofed immediately.
