I needed a way to hide all my internet cables and devices that were hidious to look at. I built a small step self with zip ties stapled underneath to tie up everything. I used two step stringers and scrap wood, then mounted it to the wall. Now I have a functional shelf instead of an eyesore.

  • Awesome design! This looks really great. What kind of stain is that?

    • The stain is Rustoleum interior wood stain in Driftwood that I had left over from a previous project. I went over the piece with a sander to weather it after the stain dried. It has more of a blue tint that I expected but it still goes nicely in the room.

  • Clever idea and nicely done. I especially like how you coped the edge that follows the baseboard trim.

    • Thanks!! I didn't know coping was what that's called, learn something everyday!
