I've been wanting to build a bench for the end of my bed and was also looking to get rid of my hideous metal filing cabinet. So I built a bench that also doubles as a filing cabinet. This really was an easy build and I'm kicking myself for not doing it sooner!

    • I used tintable chalkboard paint from Lowes. I can't seem to remember the color, but I know it was from their favorites list.

    • I took a picture of the filing bench/filing cabinet open but in order to upload a new pic (edit) it says that the project will be deleted and I'll have to resubmit it. The top on this piece basically just opens up. I installed a continuous hinge on the back and used a support hinge to keep it open. I put rails on the inside where the files can hang. If you have any more questions let me know!
