I made this console for my brother and his wife for giving me the wood from a fence of their's we tore down. This project took me forever to finish, because I had to figure out how to adapt things to what they wanted, and working with old, weathered fence wood can be a challenge. I used Ana White's plans, cutting it down from 90 inches long to 75. I did a chevron top, the sides, and barn doors with fence wood. The rest is pine and plywood. The fence wood was sanded down so that just a bit of the green was left. I used Ana White's plans for barn door hardware using aluminum bars and washers, and spray painted the hardware oil rubbed bronze. The fence wood was stained with medium walnut danish oil and finished with 3 coats of polyurethane.
