We had a small deck on the back of the house with one set of small stairs directly to the right when you stepped out. We wanted to open the deck up so it felt connected to the back yard. We added steps to the whole length of the deck. Then we removed the back of the deck and recycled the railing into the handrails for the back steps. We also painted it with DeckOver since it was in sad shape. I love how much bigger the deck feels with this change and how connected it is to the backyard.
