Well, I got tired of those empty holes in the ground and couldn't afford a "professional" solution. Took some measurements, drafted up some drawings and this was the end result. I'm a reverse "snowbird" so the pool will never be used again and now I can clean out my outbuilding and use the under space to store outside items. I also will be installing a pump with a float activated switch to pump any water that will accumulate during the summer monsoon season.

  • I suppose the pool could be used again but I did remove all the exterior plumbing, pump, NG heater, and filter. It would require new plaster, plumbing, etc. And the water bills were atrocious as was the electricity. We had a couple pool companies over to estimate a resize/rebuilt. 28k-40K was the range of bids, way, way more than I wanted to spend. What you see was done for under 4K.

  • Very nice looking. We had the same issue with a swimming pools that would have cost too much to fix ($7k). I filled it full of dirt and turned it into a Koi pond.
