I figured out the size of the light socket and used my Ryobi drill and drill bits to cut them out. Held in place partly because the bulbs are larger than the sockets, and on the back, I used a stereo wire stapler to collect the extra wire and to help hold every thing in place. Festive! What kind of tool did you use to cut these out?

Most of the cutting was done with my Ryobi 10 inch Miter saw, all angles are 30 degrees You may not be able to see in these pictures, but the tops are flat to attach a hanging screws, that cut was done with my P340 18V JOB PLUS MULTI-TOOL KIT - GREEN. Which also was used to do all the sanding. After this picture I needed to do one more quick one, of course there is always another one to be made, I used one of these as a template and cut it all out of one piece of wood, instead of the three pieces these were made out of. I cut it out with my of Ryobi zig saw and it worked good as well. Need to give credit where credit is due, I did the woodwork, but my wife designed and preformed the artwork on them.

weekend project

- Wish I could of done it in a weekend, guess some day maybe good enough, I did the top piece one board at a time, so that alone was a couple weeks. The rest is just a fancy box, loved the work and the final project for me is a one of a kind. With that said, I have considered making a second one LOL

- This is Mr Steve Good's website, has 100s of free downloads, just asks for donations. Search for Bowls or baskets. Has several to pick from. While his patterns are very good, I do have a tendency to do slight modifications. I have another basket for next month (May Day) that I added a tray onto.

- Well this is a scroll saw project, so would start there. The final look has to be accredited to my Ryobi 18v random orbital sander.

Steve does encourage his students to make it their own, I did follow pretty close, but anyone who knows these plans will see I did adjust to my needs to include height, arrangement of shelves and of course the Texas Star. Very sturdy and mobile. I am making two of these for a much bigger project you all will get to see later this year or early next year. These will be use to house my Ryobi 18v tools. Doing a total workshop redo.

- Yes, I did a lot of research and could not find one that met the needs of this child, so designed this one myself. I almost included the picture of my working prototype, in fact we use it ourselves now, but would be hard pressed to recognize or connect it with the final project.

- Thanks, we had a lot of fun making them! We had looked at buying a stand up computer desk, but making one makes it not only a lot more special, but I think they are a better made table than most you can buy.

- While there are a few that are similar, each is a one of a kind for me. A lot of the patterns did not even come from woodworking plans, a few even were just a picture that I turned into plans. Finding all the snowflakes was all part of the fun. If you go to my Pinterest you will find many of the patterns I used. #TheWeekendWoodworker

- Sorry for such a long time, I dropped the miter saw side by 3 inches, the measurement from the table to the top of the saw. Also check out Steve’s Workshop course, he has a mitersaw table I’ve switched to.

- That is wood burning, not turning, but yes, learning new woodworking skills is always fun. This was cut with a scroll saw, and rounded with a router round over bit.

Sorry, the moose is an original piece of art, a lot of it was done free hand. What we do have for patterns are very large and very rough. Wife suggested if you took our pictures, projected the on a wall covered in paper, you should be able to at least get a rough outline.
