    • This is such a cool and versatile design. I especially like the hidden storage and chalkboard.

    • How much weight does this table hold?
By renewedhaven, on January 17, 2018
      • We haven't done weight testing on it to give you an exact answer, but it is a very sturdy table!

    • What is the wall paint color?

    • Great idea and very useful!

    • There looks like there’s an error in the cuts. One of the 2x4x8 says cut 2 pieces 40”, but when constructing the frames it later tells you to cut 48”. There are no cuts on the diagram for 48”.

    • I'm starting to put together a little workshop for myself and figured this would be a great first project.
Instead of a chalkboard, I'm planning on using magnetic primer and dry erase board paint.   Will be my first time using those products.

I'm curious, for the rest of the work bench, what type of finish would anyone suggest, or just leave it raw wood?

    • What is the wall color you used
By mahlesalvage, on March 9, 2018

    • My garage is finished so I do not have the height needed to do this. I would need to make it no higher than 7 foot to allow for the barn door hardware, would I just change the dimensions from 8 foot to 7? Or 84 X 24 x 84? Thanks
      By steve57, on March 10, 2018
      • Sorry for the late reply. I would buy the barn door hardware first then mock it up to see the clearence you want. You may need to leave some room to get the door on and off the track. Good luck!

    • Tom, Great idea. I have two homes and making sure you have the right tool at the location you are working is important. Happy Creating, Karen Marie Dragonfly & Lily Pads

    • Tom, Nice build! And using the boxes as additional work area by flipping them over is a great idea. Did you use any drawer guides for the pull-outs?
      By mimeyer11, on February 19, 2016

    • Awesome project Tom. It's a damn shame I can't vote for you! This is way cooler and definitely more original.

    • Thank you all for the LOVE. The truck bed work station was a fun build. Great question about the drawer guides. Answer: I kept this very simple and rugged because hey,....it is a work station for the truck. Also because of the weight of the tools inside I did not want drawer guides to add extra friction and make them harder to pull out. What I did do was leave plenty of room on all sides of the drawers from the housing, this allowed the drawers freedom and again less friction. And to help cover up these large gaps on the drawer face 1 added aluminum angles , to fill the gap, add durability, ohh and look so COOL.....
