You did a great job on this project. It's really amazing that you were able to salvage the antique wood in spite of fire damage. You really saved some beautiful material. Can't wait to see the concrete counter top!

The countertop is complete, so happy to have the kitchen completely done. Being our first concrete project and all the trial and error it took about a month. Check it out here: https://www.ryobitools.com/nation/projects/kitchen-island-and-contrete-counter

Nice job on the table. How did you build the form?
By
Campbellked
,
on March 12, 2017
I used a malamite board, cut the main piece the size I wanted the top. For the sides I cut 2.25 in strips and screwed them into the main piece to create a border for a 1.5 in slab. Finally I put silicone in edges to create a rounded edge on the concrete.
By
Tjbaum
,
on March 12, 2017
Beautiful. I love the rounded corners. A piece of concrete that big had to be heavy. Not to mention you have to be careful moving it. It came out great. I really like your wooden base. Looks strong yet not to big.

Awesome design! This looks really great. What kind of stain is that?
By
RYOBI Nation
,
on March 13, 2017
The stain is Rustoleum interior wood stain in Driftwood that I had left over from a previous project. I went over the piece with a sander to weather it after the stain dried. It has more of a blue tint that I expected but it still goes nicely in the room.

Where can I get cut list??
By
Richardrangel48
,
on January 17, 2018
This was off my own design so I really only have the drawing that's in the last pic. But here ya go: 4-10" 1x4 (side apron and bottom supports) 3- 62" 1x4 (front and back apron and lower support) 4- 29.25" 1x4 (legs, cut at an angle of your choosing at the bottom for detail, I think mine were 5°) 2- ?" 1x4 (angled pieces, they were cut at 50° and 40° on either end, not parallel and I measured them in place after the 62" pieces were in place) 2- 6ft 1x8 (top, kreg jiged together to make it a 6ft x 14.5" top) I used the premium pine from HD for this build, it a little more expensive but with a small material list it wasn't too bad. I made the top 6ft because the 1x8s are 6 or 8ft and I didn't have any waste on those boards. Good luck!
By
Tjbaum

By

Yes I made a box joint jig for the table saw and created a first cut template. I got an old 1x42" sander to sand between the teeth and shape the points. I used the ryobi benchtop sander to shape the curves.

The dinning table looks amazing. No that the coffee table doesn't but I love the bow ties. I have a couple boards that I have been saying I'm gonna do something with for too long now. Mine are maple but I love your walnut. Also, really like the legs. Did you buy them locally or on-line? I saw ones on Amazon that I was thinking of getting.

A fellow maker friend helped me put with the legs and we fabricated them locally specifically for the dimensions of this table. If your close to stl we could probably help you out. I would also highly recommend rubio monocoat 2c for hardwood finishing, its amazing stuff.

Love the beautiful wood. Your use of butterflies sets it off. Great work! You just had Butternut slabs laying around in your shop? Seriously that's awesome. I'm throughly jealous.

I kind of have an amazing hookup with a retired guy that has a big slabber bandsaw and a logger friend and likes to mill wood so I get amazing slabs at ridiculously low prices... today I picked up seven 19" wide black locust slabs and three more 33" wide butternut slabs.

So much counter and storage space! Did you have the bar seating space before?

We did but it was two levels. We also won the pipe challenge way back for the chairs.

were you able to do this with a Ryobi lathe? I have been toying with the idea of working on pens recently.

As far as I know Ryobi does not make a lathe, there are several good ones on the market and pens are a great intro into turning.
