    • Really nice. Where did you get the door hardware? If HD, what department?
By TheBusDriver, on August 4, 2016
      • Hi and thank you TheBusDriver! I got the pulley wheels from Amazon, made spacers from scrap 2x2s, and everything else can be found at Home Depot. If you'd like, there's a tutorial with links to everything at sunnyand79.com :) Have a great day!

    • Another beautiful turn out, and a great use of reclaimed barn wood! Isn't it great when the material has history? Very nice work- thanks for sharing!
By RYOBI Nation, on August 1, 2016
      • Thanks, Ryobi Nation! Yes, I love using old wood- wish it could tell it's story. I can't believe I waited so long to put some of this old wood to use- it is so worth the extra work it takes :)

    • This turned out perfect! You have a great eye for rustic + beautiful. Did you distress the finish after staining?
By RYOBI Nation, on August 1, 2016
      • Hey RYOBI NATION! Thank you so much for your kind words!! Yes, I distressed after staining :) My CORNER CAT gets a workout around here- love that little tool so much!!

    • Beautiful work as always! Your choice of finish is spot-on. What kind of stain did you use to get the gray weathered look on the top?
By RYOBI Nation, on November 4, 2016
      • Thank you, RYOBI NATION!! Couldn't have done it without all my Ryobi Tools!! I actually did not stain the top- just kept the natural weathered look that barn wood has accumulated over the years, beautiful isn't it?! I did give it a coat of Rustoleum Triple Thick Poly for protection, and to help smooth it out. The base stain is Rustoleum Dark Walnut.

    • can you tell us how you built this and what you would do different? it looks as if you have a way to fill the feeder from the outside. cant see the feeder though from these pictures.
By Twetwe, on May 7, 2016
      • Hi Twetwe, I had purchased plans to use as a guide- if you google chicken mobile stagecoach you'll find them. They really helped because I had no idea where to start! But, I had to change things, too. Instead of bolting things together, I'd have used my kregjig in so many places to make it easier. Many of the parts required were hard to find or nonexistent in my area, so I winged it a lot, and my husband rigged up the wheels. We live in the country with a rough pasture, so bigger wheels and sturdier bolts were needed. You basically make a frame with 2x6 boards on end. Mine is 4'x8'. Plywood for front, middle, and back, with pvc loops into holes drilled in your 2x6's. Tin sheeting and 1/2"X1/2" hardware cloth around the outside. I didn't think to take pics of the feeder, but it is a 5 gal. Bucket with some slots cut out and a big bowl upside down as a cover. 4" pvc comes in at an angle from the outside and angles into a hole in the upside down bowl and goes down into the bucket. Works awesome! I hope this helps! Even though I didn't completely follow the plans, they did help give me a guide, and included the feeder plans as well. Let me know if you have any other questions.
