    • I attempted to replace two ruined drawer bottoms with plywood. The plywood came from the wall in my shop(I cannibalized it). The wood worked well for the back of the dresser. However, as I tried to thin the edges of the drawer bottoms from 3/8 inch to 3/16ths I encountered difficulty. I was using a B&D corded rotary tool as a router. The bit was some kind of spiral grinder/cutter drum style. I couldn't find real router bits to fit the 1/8 inch opening in the tool. As I slid the "routed" plywood drawer bottom into the 3/16 inch groove in the drawer, CRACK! I split the groove in the drawer frame. I now plan to use 1/8 inch white board MDF as the drawer bottoms in all 5 drawers. Also, I plan to buy a Ryobi 18V rotary tool that accepts 1/4 inch shaft router bits.

    • What a great update! Hope to see more projects on Nation soon. And yes, the P530 Speed Saw takes 1/4" bits and will do the trick.
