    • Any information you can share on the spacing of the dowels on each side and the stagger height? I'd love to maximize the space, and it sure looks like you achieved that!

    • Regarding dowel spacing for the shoe rack: I first measured 7" down from the edge of the board and drilled the first hole, then spaced holes 5 1/2" apart on the long edge of each board. I then measured down approximately 8 1/2" down from the top edge and started the second set of holes (5.5" apart) along the opposite long edge of each board. This allows the rear dowel to sit higher than the front, creating a nice display for all your shoes. My shoes are sized 8 1/2 and 9 and this works out well. If you have smaller sized shoes, you could place the dowels closer together as long as the front of the shoe is sitting lower than the rear. I hope this answered lynn0759's question. Unfortunately, I need to make at least two more of these to store all of my shoes but I know I'm not alone~ha!

    • What a great idea! Any household with kids would love to have something like this. Not only is it practical, but it's a really cute way to display those teeny little kicks!
