    • Nifty! What else are you planning on doing in your laundry room?
By RYOBI NATION, on February 6, 2018
      • This project is very interesting because it is a long room that has to serve the purpose for my gym, my laundry room as well as an office/desk corner. So far I have built upper cabinets to house cleaning and laundry supplies etc (will post that project too!) as well as some open shelves for my craft and sewing supplies and the printer. I painted the whole room a nice grey (vs the burnt orange and yellow!) And sealed the concrete block wall in there in hopes of keeping the temp more stable. I plan to build a cabinet to hide the water heater and sort of make a separation between my laundry sink and machines and my gym area on the other side. I also have two large mirrors I'd like to frame out for the gym area. I am a self taught amateur but it has been really fun working on my home (whilst my husband is overseas for a year again!). Thanks!

    • So cute!

    • WOW! Thank you so so so VERY MUCH for sharing this idea. My ironing board is longer than most boards, plus it has a rack to hang items you've ironed. So I need to hang my ironing board rack higher up on my wall. I believe this well work very well for me. Again thank you for posting.

      • So glad! It is from the sawdust sisters if you want to look it up. Mine isn't exactly like theirs since I used all scrap plywood for mine vs dimensional lumber (i used wood filler on the edges so they are smooth). It is really cute though and filled the spot that I had nothing for since I didn't want cabinets there because I couldn't reach back into them over my laundry machines so it worked out perfectly! A very quick and useful project! I'd suggest figuring out if you want to put anything aside the iron on the shelf and making it sized just for you vs their measurements!

    • Nicely done!! What was the most difficult part of this project?
By RYOBI NATION, on March 15, 2018
      • Just cutting down some of the boards an inch or two with just a circular saw! Home Depot cut the plywood into 8 inch strips for me then I cut to length at home but there were some uneven cuts they did and the bottom row needed cut down. I need to get a table saw lol! We did our dining room in shiplap with a dark grey high gloss paint and I love it, after that I bought your nail gun, so this went much faster thankfully!

      • Glad to hear this went much quicker! Looks great!

    • Great craftsmanship on this board and batten wall! The addition of the lamps are nice! What was the most difficult part of this project?
By RYOBI NATION, on April 20, 2018
      • Getting my husband to agree to cutting our room down by 1/4 to make the big closet! Haha!  It was really hard to decide on my batten design since I didn't want anything common/farmhouse but wanted an accent wall behind the bed.  We actually returned those lamps and have new ones to install that will work better and I need to get the floating nightstands (with a built in switch wired on the side because the new lamps don't have a switch on them).  It's hard to say what is hardest sometimes!  I'll spend a lot of time just staring at the progression of a project to decide what to do next so it all just seems fun! Ha!

      • Woops *get the floating nightstands I'm making installed

    • I just stumbled across your project as I search for ways to hide the water heater that just stands in the open of my laundry room.  Would you be able to share the dimensions of your cabinet?  Width & depth?  Where did you buy/find the cabinet doors?  I'm really curious and really love what you've done!
      By joybean44, on June 20, 2019
      • Hi!!  I'm not home right now, but I think that the sides are about 8-10 inches from the sides and front of my water heater.  I built the doors myself. Ana white has a shaker door tutorial that's easy to follow!

    • Awesome job on this bed and bench! What was most challenging for you?
By RYOBI NATION, on August 21, 2018
      • Thank you so much!  Ultimately figuring the legs out.  I made the bed so that the sides as well as the legs could be removed and moved easily. Ourselves and our friends are military families so moving is a part of life. I went back and used a hole saw to set the rounded bracket down inside of the legs when it was screwed in tightly.  After this was all submitted I actually had to go back and cut the legs down a few inches and move the bench so that the dog could jump more easily up on to it. lol! Little old dog was having trouble with the clearance.  All is well still, though, and the bench still folds down and the bed looks great, they seem to love it!
