    • This is the cutest simplest dog bed that I have seen, but it fits the dog so easily, so easy for him to get in and out of.
By Taxisand, on July 7, 2017
      • All the dog beds I had looked at or designs I had seen were (in my opinion) ugly and more complicated than they needed to be. This one works perfect for us and solved a space problem we had in the room. My bulldog absolutely loves laying on it and watching all the elementary kids go by every afternoon.
        By Sawdust&Beer, on July 7, 2017

    • This is such a great idea! My dog is constantly on our furniture (couches and beds). I think he likes to be up off the floor. After all it is his house - we are just lucky enough to live with him :) He loves to lay in front of the front door so he can see out into the neighborhood at what is going on. I think this would be a great idea to put in front of a window like you did so he can still see out but be off the floor. And hey - maybe it will keep him off the furniture too! Looks great and seems like an easy project even for a girl like me. I look forward to trying it!

      • You're pup will love it! Super simple and it can be done with any scrap wood (pallets or fencing) so its cheap too.
        By Sawdust&Beer, on July 7, 2017

    • Where do I find the how to for this project?
      By Fletch645, on March 29, 2020

    • What an awesome looking dog bed!! This is exactly what I'm looking to build for our Corgi so she can look out the front window. Could you give more detail on how you assembled? Did you frame it out and run a couple stringers (similar to a deck) to support and fasten the pickets to? The cut outs for the front 2x4 legs was an awesome idea! I'm also am new to the Kreg Jig and will be my first project using it. I was aslo wondering how you used it here. Again, great work!! Thank you in advance for any help.

    • Wow - this is beautiful! What a great way to make such a big moment so special and more personal and heartfelt. She is a very lucky lady!
By hlweber, on October 30, 2017

    • So thoughtful! We like the wood you chose - any particular reasoning for these two types of wood? Congratulations!
By RYOBI Nation, on November 1, 2017
      • Mostly just because of the contrast, but I guess the name Purple Heart when proposing adds something special. The Purple Heart is a super hard wood too, so it should last for a long long time :)
        By Sawdust&Beer, on November 1, 2017

    • What an amazing box. It looks like you worked very hard on this.... My question is how did she not find out must have taken you a very long time. She is a very lucky lady that is for sure, do you make anything that you sale? I would be very interested to see what you all you can make. That for sure is a talent.

    • Such a neat design! Both a useful and beautiful gift!
By RYOBI NATION, on December 15, 2017

    • She will love it. Well done. I really like the fact you made your own branding iron. That is very cool.
By mrpip, on December 16, 2017
      • Thank you mrpip. It was actually a lot easier than I expected. Finding the solid brass was the hard part but one of my suppliers for work came through for me. If you try it I would recommend cutting the stencil out with a xacto knife and using finger nail polish to put the logo onto the brass.
        By Sawdust&Beer, on December 18, 2017

    • Awesome! What did you use for finish?
      By Shrub0, on February 13, 2018
      • Just food grade mineral oil. You don't want any chemicals near food and no oils that will go rancid (such as vegetable oils). End-Grain cutting boards take quite a bit longer to make and they add a lot more waste in sawdust from the extra cuts, but they are totally worth it. If this board gets oiled regularly it should last a life time and never show any sign of wear.

    • This is so impressive! What was your biggest struggle with this build?
By RYOBI NATION, on August 10, 2018
      • Overall it was pretty simple. Getting the correct angles took a bit of double/triple checking. I think the most time consuming was the walk back and forth from the front yard to the back yard. I should have set up a work table right next to the deck lol

By RYOBI Nation, on December 4, 2018

      • haha yep! That was the plan :)
        By Sawdust&Beer, on October 22, 2018

    • Genius! Thanks so much for the details and documentation on how to replicate it for our kitchens. The Mrs. will probably expand the concept beyond drawers. Can't wait to see what's next!

By hlweber, on July 13, 2017

    • The new fence totally transforms the yard! Great work!
By RYOBI Nation, on July 14, 2017
      • Thank you Ryobi! The pictures really don't even do it justice. The highlight of the entire project was how we inspired the rest of the neighborhood to clean up their yards and finish some of their projects.

    • Those are awesome! I think I need to do this instead of the shallow rain gutter system we have for our strawberries.
By TechyHome, on June 5, 2018

    • This is awesome. Would love to use these for an herb garden. Do you have the plans anywhere so I can do my own?
By WillHud, on June 5, 2018
      • I used Ana Whites design and modified it a bit for us. Here is the link http://www.ana-white.com/2014/06/plans/cedar-vertical-tiered-ladder-garden-planter?page=1
