  • I really like the clean look to crate #1. I'll put it on my to do list.
By mrpip, on May 6, 2016

  • Wow, what a great step by step tutorial! Thanks for sharing this.
By pinktoolgirl, on May 31, 2016

  • Great idea! Looks like you could easily scale this a little up a bit to make an excellent patio or deck storage bench. Use 2 x 12's and perhaps some added internal support in the middle to prevent any sagging and you'd have a great bench.
By Damocleez, on June 18, 2016

  • I will be looking to getting involved with this project. I like the natural beauty of wood. I can see just blending in a couple of different woods - yeahhh.

    • Thanks Jeff, I just looked at your projects, you are very talented. :)
By My Altered State, on May 26, 2016

  • There is nothing better than having a nice organized garage. Every time I allow my garage to become a mess, I wind up finding tools I forgot I had when I do decide to clean it up. The same would apply to paint. You forget you had a green, so you go buy one, only to find the old one later.
    By 1froglegs, on May 26, 2016
    • You get me then! This has been my struggle. ;)
By My Altered State, on May 27, 2016

  • What an awesome paint organizer. This would be perfect for our garage.
By Birdiebee, on May 26, 2016

  • Need to do this! Such simple idea :)
By Jfranich, on September 1, 2016

  • What a great way to show all the cans. Currently mine are all in a shelf but it's hard to see what colors I have, this would eliminate that.
    By ginger_rose_126257, on September 2, 2016

  • Sweet project and love all the details. This could be adapted to SO many storage ideas, thank you!!! ~ Christina in FL

    • Haha, I'll totally take the blame.
By Rogue Engineer, on May 4, 2016
    • Almost done, just need to attach the doors. Seeing it in person, I wish I'd splurged on nicer plywood. This is worth it!

  • Does anyone else have a problem getting back to this forum when replies are posted. I got an ermail from ryobination re a comment by dragonslayerone but cannot get to the page on wither my laptop or pc. Fianlly had to come the circuitous route to get the plans Thanks Rogues
By woodstock, on May 5, 2016
    • Hi woodstock, thank you for bringing this to our attention! We are working on fixing this now, thank you!
By RYOBI Nation, on May 6, 2016

  • I've just done this build. Love it! Where did you get the base cabinets, under the work bench?
By cbosso, on May 28, 2016

  • How do you think this would turn out if different hinges were used? I'd rather not pay close to $50 a pop for the hinges. Maybe two or three smaller hinges for each one?
By StarkIndustrias, on September 8, 2016

  • My son gave me a gift card and plans for garage organization. This fit perfectly into our goals. This was SUCH a fun project to do together. I have never tackled something like this before. We had our local Home Depot cut the plywood and peg board for us. We bought a portable Ryobi table saw and a Kreg jig -- so satisfying to learn to use these tools safely and build something so great!
By davenorth, on October 7, 2016

  • Great project. Whats the measurements of the dado cuts? How far down on the side panels were they cut? It looks like the 2 1/2 framing bracket connects to the side panels ( 12 X 36) above the dado cuts.
    By Pgibson821, on December 1, 2016

  • Hi Rogue great job on the tool storage but what the size of the piano hinge ? x 30"
By fubarsport, on February 3, 2017
    • 30 inch hinge. Cut to 28.
By Jeff Homan, on February 20, 2017

  • I am using the best finished plywood. Real smooth looking..cut all materials yesterday and will do the Dado cuts (will be using a router for this job). Peg board at home depot was 3/16 so I will have to make slight adjustments to certain areas. Pictures will follow no later than tomorrow I hope.
By Jeff Homan, on February 20, 2017

  • Love this
By Lookout, on July 11, 2017

  • Can't seem to download the plans. Click on the link but nothing happens?
By Young Al, on July 18, 2017

  • I started putting this together and noticed that the cut list calls for 5 7/8" wide dividers but with a 1/4"x1/4" dado the plants call for they actually need to be 6 1/4" wide.
    By D_Weasel, on June 4, 2018

  • I built this and it turned out great.  I left out the two most central dividers to give myself a wider space where I keep all my manuals. Thanks!
By dfoliver, on September 18, 2018

  • I am unable to download the plans. It says that they can not be found.
    By Tbarton601, on May 6, 2019

  • This project was a fun build! Thank you for sharing your plans.
By mwierzbicki, on November 7, 2019

  • Hi awesome project, I was seeking clarity in regards to materials -
    • QTY 2 - 1 X 6 X 8'

Is this ply also or pine? And is it 6 inch by 8 feet?

    Thank you David
    By user_stewart_1682061, on December 7, 2020

  • Could some plywood be added to hide the pegboards? I have to compromise with the wife because she thinks the tools showing on the  pegboards looks cluttered. We currently use our garage part gym and part woodworking/project station so we want to make it look as pleasing to the eye as possible. Although I like the look of the pegboards showing I do have to work with the wife.
