Take advantage of vertical space and build a tower for the recycling bins. The shelves are slanted to allow for easy access when throwing in your recyclables. In addition to holding the recycling bins you have extra storage for bulk items. No more bending over to throw out recycling, bring the bins up to waist level and make use of all that wasted wall space.
Build the frame sides by attaching the side shelf supports to the legs using wood glue and 2 ½” pocket hole screws. Make 2 (mirror versions)
Attach cross shelf supports to frame sides using wood glue and pocket hole screws as noted. Note front slanted shelf support is a 1x2, all other shelf supports are 2x2.
Attach slanted shelf front lip to frame and shelf support. Keep 1x4 flush at bottom to 1x2.
Attach slanted shelf slats to supports using countersunk 1 ¼” wood screws. Scribe and notch out corner pieces using a jigsaw. Spacing between slats is about ¾”. Repeat steps for additional slanted shelf.
