Decorative Mirrors can add character to your home but they usually come with a hefty price tag! This DIY Pub Mirror is a quick, inexpensive project that you can customize to fit your style! Change up the hardware, don’t add hardware, give it a special finish. The possibilities are endless!
*NOTE: Before cutting the hardwood plywood to size, lay the mirrors and wood down on the plywood to make sure it is a perfect fit!
Cut the 3/4” hardwood plywood to size (if you don’t have a table saw or a circular saw, you can have this ripped for you at the hardware store).
Cut the long frame pieces to size and use your 18-Volt Brad Nailer to attach them to the front of the hardwood plywood piece. Use 1 1/4” brad nails and wood glue. The edges of the frame pieces should be flush with the edges of the hardwood plywood.
Cut the short frame pieces to size and attach them to the harwood plywood. Attach the end pieces first and then attach the middle pieces. use 1 1/4” brad nails and wood glue.
Cut the side trim pieces to size and attach them to the side of the frame with 1 1/4” brad nails and wood glue. The ack of the trim pieces should be flush wit the back of the frame.
Cut the top and bottom trim pieces to size and attach them to the top and bottom of the frame with 1 1/4” brad nails and wood glue. The top and bottom trim pieces should be flush with the side trim pieces.
Fill your nail holes and add a finish! Once the finish is dry, attach the hinges to the frame. We used large hex bolts to attach the hinges and painted them black. You can get creative with the hardware on this and make it your own! Finally, use your 18-Volt Hot Glue Gun to attach the mirrors.. (We used 12"x12" and 12"x24" Mirrors) Make sure to share your builds with us on social and use #shanty2chic so we can share them too!
