ATTACH CONSOLE TO LOUNGE CHAIR
Center the console onto the lounge chair and attach with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws.

Sand, stain and/or paint, and finish as desired. I purchased the seat cushions from IKEA and used 3 yards of outdoor fabric for the canopy.

BUILD THE DECK FRAME
Measure, mark, and cut 2x4 deck frame to length. Construct as shown, attaching with 2 ½ inch exterior wood screws. Be sure to pre-drill all pilot holes to reduce the risk of the wood splitting. Check for square and adjust as needed.

ATTACH THE BACK LEGS AND FRONT FEET
Measure, mark, and cut 2x4 legs and feet to size. Taper the feet with a circular saw (see closeup) and attach to deck frame with 2 ½ inch exterior wood screws.

ATTACH THE DECKING
Measure, mark, and cut decking to length. Attach to deck frame with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws. Space slats ¾ inches apart. *Tip: use a scrap 1x board as a spacer.

BUILD THE BACK
Measure, mark, and cut 1x4 and 1x2 boards to length. Construct as shown, attaching with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws. Space back slats ¾ inches apart.

ATTACH BACK
Place constructed back onto lounge chair and attach with 1 1/4 inch exterior wood screws.

ATTACH DECKING AND DOWELS
Measure, mark, and cut 1x4 boards to length. Cut 1 ¼ inch diameter dowel to 1 ½ inches long. Attach to lounge chair as shown with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws, spacing slats ¾ inches apart.

ATTACH MIDDLE LEGS
Measure, mark, and cut 2x4 middle legs to length. Attach to lounge chair with 2 ½ inch exterior wood screws.

ATTACH TOP RAILS
Measure, mark, and cut 1x2 rails to length. Attach to legs with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws.

Measure, mark, and cut 1x2 rails to length. Attach to legs with 1 ¼ inch exterior wood screws.

BUILD THE CONSOLE
Measure, mark, and cut 1x4 boards to length. Construct as shown with 1 ¼ inch brad nails and wood glue.

ATTACH THE SIDES TO THE CONSOLE
Measure, mark, and cut ¼ inch plywood to size and attach to console with 1 ¼ inch brad nails and wood glue.

ATTACH DRINK HOLDERS AND LID
Using a 2 ¾ inch hole saw, cut drink holder holes into the shorter 1x4 board as shown. Attach to console with 1 ¼ inch brad nails and wood glue. Drill a finger pull into the longer 1x4 board and attach to console with a small hinge.
