Print Options

  1. Project Steps

    1. Step: 1

      Rip 3/4” plywood into strips 24” wide by 8 feet long using either a table saw or circular saw.

    2. Step: 2

      Measure height of caster wheels. Subtract measurements from 34-1/2”. From the 24” wide strips, cut three pieces to this length for the sides/divider.

    3. Step: 3

      Cut remaining pieces according to cut list.

    4. Step: 4

      Drill four 3/4” pocket holes on 5 each end (measuring 24” long) of the side/divider pieces. Attach sides to top and bottom with 1-1/4” pocket hole screws.

    5. Step: 5

      Mark center of top/bottom. Attach divider to top and bottom with 1-1/4” pocket hole screws.

    6. Step: 6

      Drill four 3/4” pocket holes on each end (measuring 24” long) of the shelves. Attach between divider and sides.

    7. Step: 7

      Apply glue to back edges of the cart. Attach back with 3/4” brad nails.

    8. Step: 8

      Install caster wheels at base of cart.

    9. Step: 9

      Optional Drawers: Measure distance between side and divider and subtract 1”. Per drawer, cut two – 1x6 to this length (front and back of drawer). Cut two 1x6 to 20-1/2” long per drawer (drawer sides). Drill two 3/4” pocket holes on each end of drawer sides. Attach drawer sides to drawer front/backs with 1-1/4” pocket hole screws. Measure bottom of drawer and cut 1/4” plywood to t. Use 3/4” brad nails and glue to attach.

    10. Step: 10

      Install drawers with 22” drawer slides according to manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Could someone post the dimensions of the in/out feed cart and the miter saw cart? Are they both 48" wide?

    • Hi @potomacbuilder! The in-feed-out-feed cart dimensions are 36 x 24 x 40. The miter saw cart dimensions are 36 x 24 x 48. Hope this is helpful!

    • thanks. In the video though the in/out cart is definitely wider than the miter saw cart. Optical illusion??

    • I noticed that too. Maybe the miter saw cart is 40" wide and the others are 48". Thinking more about it, all the carts could be anything up to 48" in width. Might as well make them 48" wide and have less waste.

      I hope to make the carts in the next few weeks! It'll help organize the war zone that is my garage.

  • Hi, I started building this today.  I assembled the outer frame and it is not overly sturdy.  I did it with 16 1-1/4" course thread pocket hole screws in the location from the plans.  Before I invest too much more time and money I was hoping to find out if this is expected?  Will adding the interior pieces and the 1/4" plywood to the back truly make this fully stable?  I planned on building the Miter saw cart next, but I would not put a miter saw on this one as it is now.

    • Hi! We did not have issues at all with it being sturdy. Did you go ahead and add the other interior pieces? That should make it more sturdy.

  • Do I need to build the miter saw cart first in order to get the correct height for the in and out carts? I’m planning on purchasing the Ryobi 12” sliding miter saw to put on the cart.
