Geometric Dog House

Despite its faceted angular appearance this modern doghouse is quite easy to construct. A single sheet of 1/4 inch thick plywood, a couple of 2x3s, and a handful of screws are the only materials needed. The first step is to take a sheet of plywood and cut two 14-inch wide strips 8 feet long. Then stack the two strips together and cut the equilateral triangular pieces of plywood two at a time until you have 20 triangles. Smooth down the edges of the plywood with sandpaper. To fasten the plywood triangles together at the proper angle cut 2x3 blocks as shown in the diagram. These blocks can be cut flat with a 5.5” circular saw or with a 7-1/4” diameter circular saw with the blade angled at 42 degrees. Screw the blocks to the plywood triangles and connect it all together.

  • I love this. How can I learn the way of thinking you've used in this design?
