The perfect spot to rest all those packages and gifts that come through the door not to mention friends and family! I painted this bench a beautiful bright red color to add some holiday cheer and provide a calling beacon for those who need a spot to sit while putting on shoes. Cut List: • 2 – 2x2 @ 9 3/8” long point measurement, one end 10 degree miter (base leg supports) • 2 – 2x3 @ 8” short point measurement, one end 10 degree miter (seat leg supports) • 2 – 2x3 @ 18 1/8” long point to long point, both ends 10 degree miter parallel (front legs) • 2 – 2x3 @ 36” (back legs) • 1 – 2x3 @ 35” (seat cross support) • 1 – 1x3 @ 42” (base cross support) • 1 – 1x6 @ 48” (back) • 1 – 1x12 @ 48” (seat)
Make a notch in the base leg support using a jig saw.
Attach leg supports to front leg using wood glue and 2 1/2” pocket hole screws.
Make taper in back leg using a jig saw.
Attach leg supports to back leg using wood glue and 2 1/2” pocket hole screws. Repeat steps 1 – 4 making 2 leg pieces.
Attach seat cross support to leg pieces using wood glue and 2 1/2” pocket hole screws.
Attach base cross support into notches using wood glue and 1 ¼” countersunk screws from underside.
Attach seat and back piece to leg pieces using wood glue and 1 ¼” countersunk screws.
