Step: 1
Cutting Instructions:
Cut all your boards first according to the cut list.
4 – 1x2 @ 37-1/2”
2 – 1x2 @ 51-3/4”
3 – 1x3 @ 37-1/2”
2 – 3/4" x 3/4" wood moulding @ 50-1/4”
9 – 3/4" x 3/4" wood moulding @ 12” long
Shorter Frame Pieces.
Attach in an L shape two 37-1/2” long 1x2s together. Build two of these. Use 1-1/4” brad nails and wood glue. TIP: Use scrap 1x2s as spacers under the unsupported side of the piece you are nailing into.
Step: 2
Longer Frame Pieces.
Attach the longer frame pieces to the shorter frame pieces with 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Step: 3
Back Supports
Attach back supports to longer frame side pieces with glue and nails.
Step: 4
Longer Moulding Pieces
Using the 12” moulding pieces as guides, nail the longer moulding pieces to all back support boards with 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Step: 5
Smaller Moulding Pieces
Finally attach the smaller mouldign pieces in between the larger moulding pieces, using pieces not yet attached as guides. Use 1-1/4” brad nails and glue.
Step: 6
Sand
Sand the project using 120 grit sandpaper. For a finer finish, work downward in sanding grits.
Step: 7
Stain or Paint
Paint or stain the frame. TIP: It may also be easier to add hanging hardware at this step.
Step: 8
Glue Mirrors On
Once the paint or stain has completely dried, read directions on the mirror mastic, and use to attach mirrors to the frame. Let dry.
Step: 9
Hang and enjoy!
Note: This mirror can be hung using a picture hanging kit suitable for up to 50 lbs or larger. Do not hang from the 1x2 at 51-3/4" long.
