LUMBER CUT LIST (includes materials to make both putting greens): (2) 2'x8' 3/4" Plywood (10) 2"x4" @24" Each (2) 1"x6" @96" Each (2) 1"x6" @26-1/4" Each (6) 2"x2" @1ft Each, 45 degree angle at each end (for the angled obstacles) (4) 2"x2" @ 6" Each, 45 degree angle at each end (for the corner pieces) (3) pieces 3/4" plywood sheet, cut 5" wide, 2ft in length (can purchase a 2'x2' precut sheet)
Using the tape measure, mark the middle of the plywood at 24" and draw a line down the center. (Tip: Elevate your large 4'x8' piece of plywood up on 2x4s, using them as blocks) Using a circular saw, rip 3/4" plywood in half, length wise. You'll have 2 pieces @ 2'x8'.
Determine the hole position and trace around PVC cap. Putting Green #1's hole is exactly centered at the end of the board, about 7" in from the top. Putting Green #2's hole is offset, in 7" from the right side, in 7" from the top. Drill a hole into the edge of the circle, so that you can get your jigsaw blade inside the hole in the next step.
Cut holes on each board using a Jig Saw.
Next, cut artificial turf (with scissors or knife) slightly larger than the 2'x8' plywood so that you have enough to wrap a small amount around the edges. Wrap turf around plywood and attach using 3/8" Stapler.
Cut an X with knife/scissor on the turf in the hole area, pull turn through the back and staple underneath side.
Pre-drill holes into PVC Cap to avoid splitting the plastic. Insert the PVC Cap flush to the top and attach with 1" screws using drill or impact driver
Using a miter saw, cut (10) 2x4's into 24" lengths (5 per putting green). Attach to bottom side of plywood with 2" screws. Be sure to evenly space supports and be careful not to cover the hole.
Flip plywood right side up, so that the turf is showing. Using a Miter Saw, cut (4) 1"x6" @96" (2 pieces per putting green). Attach to each side of the platform using 2-1/2" screws. Next, cut (2) 1"x6" @ 26-1/4" (1 per putting green). Attach to the backside (closest to the hole), flush on either side using 2-1/2" screws. (Tip: Some screws should be fastened into the plywood, while others into the base support.)
Creating the corners: Using a Miter Saw, cut (4) 2"x2" @ 6" in length each (2 per putting green) at its longest point, with 45 degree angles on each side. Pre-drill to prevent splitting the wood. Attach to each corner using 2-1/2" screws, 2 screws per corner.
Creating The Tunnel for Putting Green #1: Using a circular saw, cut 3/4" (2x2 precut sheet) plywood into (3) pieces, 5" in width @ 2ft long, each. Assemble the tunnel together separately from the board, fasten together using 2" screws.
Creating The Tunnel for Putting Green #1 (continued): Next, place the tunnel in the putting green, mark the edges, and pre-drill holes where the plywood meets the turf. Make sure the tunnel lines up perfectly to the hole. Flip board on its side, and fasten the tunnel to the board using 2-1/2" screws.
Creating the Angled Obstacles on Putting Green #2: Using a Miter Saw, cut (6) 2"x2" @ 1ft each, with 45 degree angles at each side. Place 3 sets of 2 pieces together, each will form a point. Place these points equally across the board, one point will be in the middle of the left side (point at 48"), the other 2 points will split the difference on either side (points at 24" and 72"). Pre-drill holes to prevent splitting the wood. Attach using 2-1/2" screws.
Move putting green to desired area, grab your putter and golf balls and ENJOY!
