Assemble the base frame and bolt joints together with 3/8” x 6” bolts, make sure the base and walls are square.

Install deck floor joists, spaced approximately 16” apart, secure with 2 ½” screws. Install the floor boards and secure with screws at each joist.

Install the framing for the slide. Assemble and install the slide according to the slide instructions.
Step: 5
Add framing for the windows and walls, install a railing around the top of the deck. Use 2 1/2" screws to secure in place.

Cut the rafters and cut out a birds mouth and seat using a circular saw to gang cut the boards. Assemble the rafter and install on the railing, secure with 2 1/2" screws.
Step: 7
If using wood shingles, install roof lath along the rafters. Install the wood shingles according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Otherwise install preferred roofing material.
Step: 8
Add decorative beams to the front peak of the roof, secure with 2 ½” screws.
Step: 9
Install the railing balusters along the open portion of the deck. Secure the balusters with 2 ½” screws.
Step: 10
Build the ladder and secure the treads with 2 ½” screws. Build the climbing wall and install the plastic climbing rocks per the manufacturer’s instructions. Attach the ladder and climbing wall to the deck of the play set with 2 ½” screws.
Step: 11
Add siding to the play set, I chose T1-11 plywood siding. Cut panels out of the siding sheets to fit on the play set frame, trace the window opening onto the back of the panel and use a circular saw or jig saw to cut out the window. Secure the panels to the frame with 1 5/8” exterior screws.
Step: 12
Add trim to the windows with 1x3’s and 1x4’s. Secure the trim with 2” brad nails or screws.
Step: 13
Build a door from cedar fence pickets, attach gate hardware to the door and install in door opening. Build 2 planter boxes out of cedar, drill holes in the bottom to drain water. Install the planter boxes below the top windows. Build 2 shutters for the lower large window and secure with 1 5/8” exterior screws.
Step: 14
Assemble the swing set according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Attach to the playhouse or leave detached.
Step: 15
To finish the play set, lightly sand the wood and prepare for paint or stain depending on your look. I primed and painted the playhouse. Make sure to seal the raw wood to help preserve it. Attach the steering wheel and telescope.
