  • I LOVE this snowflake design - the monogram makes it extra special. Also enjoyed watching the video on the RYOBI Holiday Headquarters site. Thanks!

  • question, homedepot had the (fan, radio and workshop light) as a combo. How can I get that combo? In the near future can I make a combo set myself and buy it from here? Darryl (

  • Ana,
My wife always wants me to do a holiday project every year and I love the monogrammed snowflake.  I really like the style of the monogram & my initial is R.  Want font did you use or where did you get the monogram template.

  • Where do you find the monogram template? I love this idea, but have no idea where to find the letters.

  • This is fantastic. I've always wanted a faux fireplace. And the storage is ingenious'.'.'.'.'.

  • Thank you!!!

  • Note to readers: When I checked Ana's site I saw that the photograph of the finished project has a crown molding but the sketches do not (or at least, not as far as I could see). It would not be hard to figure out what to do but once I registered on Ryobi I was able to see exactly what she did and got the plans for the build as well. Looks good and I look forward to building a couple of them. B

  • Forgot to mention: If you build this project with plywood, I would suggest using either edge-banding or 1/4"x3/4" edging strips (is that the right name for them???) made of hardwood. Of course, if you do the latter, make sure to shorten the plywood by that 1/4". By doing this, it is more work, but the plywood edges do not show (they can be unattractive) plus the plywood will be less susceptible to warping than solid wood. I am no professional woodworker - only a hobbyist - so feel free to disagree :) B

  • How could I make this safe to burn candles in? Or not a good idea at all?
By WoodTinker, on November 9, 2014

  • Thanks for the blueprints. I just finished building one today. Only one nitpick. On the cut list you list the center divider as 1x12 @ 32-1/2" but in the diagram it is 31-1/2". If someone doesn't look at the diagram before they do all their cuts, they are going to have an extra inch. lol

  • Hi Ana, great idea. I have been looking for a plan like this but with an electric fireplace in it. Do you think it could be possible to insert one in?? And would you have to add extra supports, to compensate for weight of electric fireplace. I would really like to make this it will be great in my living room. Keep up with the great ideas.

  • This looks great! Do you think any adjustments would be needed if you wanted a stone top for the mantel?
By Row House Reno, on November 20, 2014

  • It also doesn't look like you mentioned that the middle door needs a piece of wood attached to the main structure to stop it from closing into its own opening. The video shows that you added this piece of wood, but the plans don't include it.

  • .. also, the back paneling measurements in the cut list don't match the diagram. Basically if someone followed the cut list and the diagram, they would have a hard time building this, because there are alot of incinsistencies. It should really be updated if it's expected that a novice could use this.
By Jig, on December 1, 2014

  • I meant *inconsistencies (Ryobi's awesome forum system doesn't allow post management -_- )
By Jig, on December 1, 2014

  • Thanks, joescornhole_52170, for the heads up on the measurement discrepancy. The cut list will be updated.

  • I would also wanted to build this and have an electric fireplace insert during winter and take out during the warmer seasons.

  • I LOVE this! I wish someone close by could build this for me!! Any takers in Los Angeles county?? :)

  • Love this. How do I attach it to my wall as I intend to put my TV on top of it.
    By ChrisT13, on February 4, 2015

  • I love this and want one sooooooo bad. Is there anyone who lives near Florence,ky that would know what their doing that can team up and help me do this !!!
    By Debbieshopper38, on February 5, 2015

  • What would I need to do, if anything, so I could add an electric fireplace insert? I love this.
    By Char1960, on January 15, 2018
